I have to first start with saying my husband rocks and he is the greatest for painting and creating almost everything in this room! I helped with the crafty and spray painting. Our weekend project was to change our dining room into a bedroom for my oldest son. He loves anything vintage, from Remington typewriters to vinyl records. When we saw a show that had someone use a steampunk style to decorate the place, we decided that it would be fun to use for our son’s room. He is a teenager so you can guess that a grown up room was in order. We kept the room neutral, no skulls or anything creepy. We just captured the inventive style of Steampunk.
Some of the best fun with decorating this room was to resuse and recycle just about everything in this room. All it took was a few paint cans, left over wall paint colors, some hot glue. We found vintage sand paper wheels, rusty L measuring guides, copper pipes, and even old beakers. The bed frame is one from a thrift store that was an 80’s gold color before we painted it.
We had some left over curtain tie backs that we used to hang his favorite hats.
